Dave was
born in Harrisburg, PA in 1967 and
lived there until about 5 years of
age.
At that time I (let's move to the first person, here) moved to York
Springs,
PA, a very small town near Gettysburg, PA. (Bored yet?) I graduated in
1984 by the skin of my teeth from Bermudian Springs High School in a
class
of 81 people at age 17. I moved around a lot since then. I've lived in
Hanover,
Gettysburg, New Oxford and Clifton Heights (near Philly), PA;
Jacksonville,
NC; Conway, SC; Newark and New Castle, DE; Linthicum, Annapolis,
Edgewater, The Maritime Republic of Eastport and now Windsor Mill, MD;
and for a time kicked
back on Assateague Island, VA as an unemployed bum. I got interested in
photography by
accident
after taking some half-decent shots of natural settings. I taught
myself
by reading books on the subject and through constant trial and error. I
consider reflections to be challenging and fun because of how
interesting the focal
distances
inside of the reflections can be. I've taken pictures of several
bands
live including The Grateful Dead, Sting, Dylan, Traffic, Crack the Sky,
King Crimson, Tony Geballe, Bruford/Levin's Upper Extremities, Emerson,
Lake and Palmer and Jethro Tull. I've recently gone digital and at this
point am thrilled with it. I've even more recently acquired studio
lights, started working with humans as subjects, and started taking
Photoshop much more seriously.
Music is
one of my favorite things, and I
think
I know more about theory than I really do. Around 1995 I
discovered Progressive Music by being turned on to King Crimson by a
roommate (JT). I guess I've always known about it, but
never
knew it really had its own genre. Thanx to DC-ET, an email group, I've
found
out
about more bands than I would've ever known about before. See:
http://dc-et.freeservers.com
for links to them. Astronomy
is also something that's quite
exciting.
Just about anything related to math and physical science piques my
curiosity.
Physics, evolution, weather...stuff like that. I also enjoy hiking and
backpacking, as many of my pics will reveal.
After
an
interesting couple years of changing my address more times than I'd
like to admit, I'm currently unemployed, but looking, after working at
my ~58th job since
high school (I know, you think I'm kidding, right?) typing to you,
taking and working on a bunch more
pix for this site, drumming, partying with friends and trying to locate
a reasonably sane woman to share exclusive,
long-term, mutual worship and loathing.
I hope you keep your browsers pointed here to check for more pics on a regular basis.
So,
nothing too awful personal here, but enough about me anyway...send an
email to the address
above and tell me a little about you!
Catch
ya
then!
